CHRISTY DAWN FARM TO CLOSET.
I’ve long been inspired by Christy Dawn’s breezy floral dresses, their use of deadstock fabrics and sustainable practices, but their latest Farm-to-Closet initiative has really won me over.
For the past two years, Christy Dawn has been working on their Farm-to-Closet initiative as ‘a conscious effort to deepen our intimacy with soil, farmer, and ultimately ourselves’. This started with the leasing of 24 acres of depleted land in Erode, India, where they are working with local farmers and artisans to replenish the soil using traditional wisdom and ancient practices of regeneration. Cotton is now produced in these replenished fields to create the dresses for the beautiful Farm-to-Closet line.
